De 1878 à 1993, la compagnie Ayers Limitée prospère et demeure un des principaux employeurs du comté d’Argenteuil permettant ainsi à des générations de travailleurs et travailleuses du textile de prendre racine à Lachute. Aujourd’hui encore, dans la mémoire vivante des Argenteuillois, ce brin d’histoire qu’a écrit la Ayers Limitée sur la rivière du Nord demeure l’apanage des bons souvenirs.

Even today, in the living memory of Argenteuil residents, this part of history written by Ayers Limited on the North River still provides good memories

Power Plant No. 1, Woolen Felt and Blanket, Cotton Felt & Rope Mills. Ayers Limited, Lachute Mills. This is the first dam to the ‘’grosse chute’’, we see in the background at the top left the second dam known as Dam Neuve located at the ‘’grande chute’’ of the North River.
Did you know that there were two waterfalls in Lachute?
